Honey: is produced from many different floral sources and its antimicrobial activity varies with origin and processing. Dioscorides (c.50 AD) stated that a pale yellow honey from Attica was the best. Aristotle (384-322 BC), when discussing different honeys, referred to pale honey as being "good as a salve for sore eyes and wounds". Today, the strawberry-tree honey of Sardinia is valued for its therapeutic properties. In India lotus honey is said to be a panacea for eye diseases. Honey from the Jirdin valley of Yemen is revered in Dubai for its therapeutic properties and manuka honey has a long-standing reputation in New Zealand folk-lore for its antiseptic properties. Honey has been used to treat infections in a wide range of wound types. These include burns, venous leg ulcers, leg ulcers of mixed aetiology, diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, unhealed graft donor sites, abscesses, boils, pilonidal sinuses, infected wounds from lower limb surgery, necrotising faciitis and neonatal postoperative wound infection. In many of these and other cases, honey has been used to heal wounds not responding to treatment with conventional antibiotics and antiseptics. Its a healing medicine. It also will adapt you to your environment by synergizing your immune system to the ailments that lay in the environment. It is recommended to find honey within 10 - 14 Miles from your dwelling so that you will effectively inherit those capabilities of adaptation.Apitherapy, the treatment of various conditions using honeybee products, has been around a long time. Honey is one of the oldest medicines we have, with proof of its healing power dating back more than 5000 years. Even Hippocrates found that honey "cleans sores and ulcers of the lips, heals carbuncles and running sores." It has been a staple ingredient of folk medicines throughout the ages and now, it is even gaining credibility with current medical and scientific communities. British researchers have proven that applying raw honey to fresh wounds prevents infection as well as any medication and often eliminates the need for antibiotics. They have also learned that honey-treated cuts and scrapes heal quicker than those treated with medicated ointments. Other researchers have found that honey can alleviate asthma, calm nerves and induce sleep, ease pain and relieve diarrhea.
Avocado: Creamy rich avocado is considered the world's healthiest fruit, because of its nutrient contents such as copper, dietary fiber, potassium, folic acid, vitamin A, B6, C, D, E, & K. Vitamin A, D and E are all involved in skin cell growth and regeneration. Vitamin A and E have strong antibacterial and anti-inflammatory functions that promote faster healing of cuts and wounds, and prevent scarring, acne breakouts and dermatitis. They also give you natural sun protection. Studies have shown that both intake and topical application of avocado oil can reduce the appearance of age spots, fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin A and D can promote collage production and binding–the intake or application of which can effectively slow down your skin’s aging process. Avocado oil is a great source of lecithin. This yellowing fatty substance acts as a super emulsifier and lubricant. When applied topically, lecithin forms a protective covering on your hair follicles and your skin’s surface, effectively preventing the loss of moisture due to wind and climate damage. Avocado oil is also high in sterolin which can be used as a softener or moisturizer in hair and skin care. Avocado oil contains a balanced proportion of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. These essential fatty acids, along with vitamin E have powerful antioxidant properties which can protect your blood vessels by binding and removing free radicals and cholesterol deposits and reducing your risk of blood vessel damage. The binding of these antioxidants to your blood vessel lining also makes your vessel wall stronger and more flexible so that they respond better to sudden changes of blood pressure. Studies have shown that regular intake of avocado oil can significantly lower your risk of arterial thrombosis and coronary heart disease.
Rosemary: Rosemary Verbenone is recommended by many authorities for its cell regenerating powers. Its supreme skin regenerative and wound healing properties make Rosemary verbenone especially useful for treating chronic skin conditions, dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis. Rosemary's pronounced stimulating effect on the circulatory systems (lymph, nerve and blood) makes is especially helpful for lowering blood pressure, as well as for promoting cellular respiration and detoxification. It is a cell rejuvenator. Acne prone skin may respond favorably to the renewing effects of Rosemary verbenone, as well as to its action to fight infection and promote glandular balance and function. It’s skin nourishing action makes it ideal for dry and mature skin.
Mint: You've probably never considered rubbing mint oil on your face to prevent pimples from popping up or to treat wounds and rashes. Mint oil, however, has served as a natural astringent, and people have used it to treat these problems for a long time. What makes mint helpful in treating inflammations such as acne is its high content of salicylic acid. This acid, which is found naturally in mint, is an active ingredient used in many skin care products. The acid loosens up dead skin cells, allowing them to shed easier. That has the potential to prevent your pores from clogging up, resulting in fewer pimples and clearer skin.
