Get an idea of what kind of gear you will need or to have and what may work best for you. There are nearly 70 pages of reading which give a great overview of all the gear of a professional adventure photographer.
I recently purchased the Canon EOS 80D DSLR to upgrade my equipment that I do not have. It is currently located 2 1/2 hour drive from Tarapoto, Peru in the middle of the jungle being kept by a couple of shamans. I know it's a very weird place to leave all your camera equipment. I had to leave and was expected to return. Sometimes there are these curves in life and these short stops along the way that add up to great photo opportunities. I plan on going back this winter but for now this is the direction. In the past I use a ESO t3i Rebel by Canon. Those ti models are great for beginner and skilled photography. Canon is current with the t7i model. I went with buying the international camera and lens by Canon as they are the same exact thing you're just cutting out the middle man which then consequently excludes you from registering your Canon product with Canon for repair. Other companies and business may or can offer warranties. I know because I paid $269 for a 3 year warranty on my Canon EOS 80D. I will be shooting with a new 18-135mm USM nano lens and 75-300m USM nano lens. I heard that they are quieter than the STM. I will have to keep you posted if that is true the old USM were beat by the STM for not picking up sound on the lens focusing and the fast focus response was best for filming video. This is also why I went with the Canon EOS 80D to increase my video making capabilities. I look forward to sharing more.
